The Wolf Painting

The painting depicts Tulici, a Northwestern Gray Wolf that I photographed at a wolf sanctuary in Southern California back in 2020. The wolf is surrounded by 80 different wolf-related toys from various generations of pop culture, as well as a small statue of Romulus and Remus. The decorative motif is primarily inspired by a 16th century illuminated Bible, as well as early 20th century circus posters. It took roughly 1600-1800 hours spread out over 5 years.
